I am due with baby #2 in about a month. I used disposable diapers with my first child but am considering cloth diapers now. I have been doing some research but the information is overwhelming. I would love to know if anyone has any advice or recommendations to point me in the right direction? If you have a brand that you love, I would appreciate hearing about that as well. Thanks in advance!

Hi @randimom. I haven’t ever used cloth diapers myself but my sister has. I know that she did a ton of research before jumping in. I also know that she loves not adding all those disposable diapers to the landfill but she has admitted that it is a bit of a constant struggle as well. I will see if I can check with her about what brand she uses and any other hints that she might be able to share.

Hi @randimom – I applaud you for considering cloth diapers. I have heard from other mothers that it is a lot of work but it can also mean a lot of savings as well since disposable diapers are so expensive. You can find some more information here – https://www.healthychildren.org/English/ages-stages/baby/diapers-clothing/Pages/Diapers-Disposable-or-Cloth.aspx . Good luck and let us know what you decide and if you have any recommendations for anyone else who might be considering the same thing as well.

We used Bum Genius diapers… outer easy wash shell with terry cloth insert. It was a nice cross between the disposables and basic cloth diapers.
